Where did the time go?

Thanksgiving is next week. I can't believe it. It's early this year, I know, but that doesn't matter. It's still next week and I'm not sure how we got here so fast. October was a blur. My students this semester are taking more energy out of me than I'm prepared to give. They are mostly interested in what they already know and themselves. I've taken to giving up at times. I can't talk over the loud pitch of their voices. Why is everyone so loud? Has anyone noticed? Everything is loud. I think the library must be the last place one can go for quiet. Anyway, I'm going to enjoy a few days away from my students to let my ears rest and my brain to recover.
