It's not as bad as all that. I'm deep into grading critical papers, portfolios and mid-year exams. As always, my students have delivered just as expected. Before exams begin I can pretty much tell who will get what grade. A very small percentage of students ever do better than expected, but once in a while I get a pleasant surprise and find one whose exam is really well done. I always knew that he or she had it in them, but it sometimes takes the final push for them to show it. I've found one so far, but there's plenty more grading to do so maybe someone else will deliver. The rest of them seem to be pretty much on track.
I guess I better finish this semester before I get too crazy about the next one.
